Sukriti Social Foundation (SSF) is a Chennai based organization established in 2006 to advocate for individuals challenged by physical disabilities while championing social and economic inclusion. Based in Chennai, India, SSF is dedicated to a comprehensive approach, focusing on prevention, rehabilitation, training, empowerment, and advocacy for individuals with disabilities.
Our Foundation has emerged as a beacon of hope, dedicating over a decade to fostering change and empowerment in the lives of those facing physical challenges. SSF’s unwavering commitment has led to transformative initiatives, empowering individuals with the tools and resources necessary to navigate their unique journeys toward independence and self-reliance.
At SSF, we believe in the power of collective action. We collaborate with stakeholders, volunteers, and local communities to create a society where individuals with disabilities are empowered, respected, and provided equal opportunities for a fulfilling life
From 2014 onwards, SSF has shifted its focus more towards children with disabilities.

Sowmya Simhan
With a distinguished career in finance at Chettinad Cement Corporation Limited, Sowmya Simhan chose a new path, leveraging her three decade-long expertise in social work. A polio survivor, she established Sukriti Social Foundation in 2006. Her contributions have earned her accolades, such as the D-30 Impact List 2023 by Diversability, USA, and the Women Achiever Award from First Copy Productions in 2017. An active member of the Lions Club of Chennai Silver Pearls for over 25 years, she’s involved with multiple educational and senior citizen-focused organizations.
